P&O News 1 July 2016
The 14 universities that together form the VSNU have decided to implement the remaining salary increase under the terms of the salary agreement agreed for the public sector in the summer of 2015. Although no new collective employment agreement for Dutch universities is yet in place, the Board of the VSNU believes that university staff are entitled to this salary increase now.
In the 2015 salary agreement it was agreed that the public sector would have a salary increase of a total of 5.5% in the 2015 to 2016 period. In 2015 the universities implemented salary increases amounting to 4.25%. The universities have now decided to implement the remaining salary increase of 0.8% with retrospective effect dating from 1 January 2016. This increase can only be implemented from the payment of the September salary.
