Free running training for staff
Are you going to run one of the distances in the Leiden marathon in May? If so, you can join one of the free training sessions that Leiden University and the Leiden Marathon are organising. It makes no difference if you are unfit or a seasoned runner, whether you intend to run 5 kilometers or a half-marathon - everyone is welcome.
The Leiden Marathon is taking place this year on 20 and 21 May. The Night Run will be on Saturday 20 May: 5 kilometers over a route with festive lighting. On Sunday 21 May you can take part in the full marathon, the half-marathon or the 10 kilometers. Women and men will run in separate classes. This year the Leiden Marathon is the occasion for the first Open Dutch Students Championship. Leiden students who take part can compete for a personal award and at the same time defend the honour of Leiden University against student teams from the Netherlands and abroad.
Open training sessions
Open training sessions are being organised jointly by Leiden University and the Leiden Marathon to support staff and students who want to take part. Qualified trainers from the Leiden Marathon, the University Sports Centre and its running club L.U.H.V. The open training sessions are being offered at different locations in Leiden and you can take part for free.
