Reorganisation

It is possible that as an employee you may be affected by a reorganisation of your faculty or centre of expertise. A reorganisation within a university follows a procedure laid out in the Leiden University 2014 Reorganisation Code of Conduct

Reorganisations that started before 1 January 2014 will be carried out according to the Leiden University Reorganisation Code dated 12 May 2009. (only in Dutch).

Redeployment

The Reorganisation Code of Conduct and the Collective Labour Agreement provide particular guarantees for employees who are subject to potential dismissal as the result of a reorganisation. These employees are given the status of candidates for redeployment, which means that the university and the employee together consider the possibilities for redeployment to an appropriate position within the organisation.
