The Expat Centre Leiden helps internationals in the Leiden region with questions they may have about working and living in the Netherlands. The Expat Centre Leiden also organises various events you can attend.

The Hague

You are likely to visit the Hague International Centre at least once when you join Leiden University form outside the European Union.  Leiden University will act as your sponsor during your stay and submit an application for a residence permit prior to your arrival. As soon as the application for this residence permit is approved, you need to pick it up in person at The Hague International Centre (or any other location we will inform you about).

If you take up residence in the The Hague Area (The Hague, Delft, Leidschendam, Voorburg and Rijswijk) you can register in the Personal Records Database (BRP) of the municipality, and pick up your residence card with just one visit. We hope to arrange this for residents of Leiden in the near future as well.

The employees and volunteers of THIC are very willing to help you with any question you may have.
