Universities around the world use varying grading systems. In The Netherlands, a 10-point system is employed in both secondary and higher education. A grade of 10 is the highest. 6 is the minimum pass grade. When grading papers or tests, teachers tend to use decimal points as well, which makes 5,5 the minimum pass grade (which rounds up to 6 when recalculated to full points).

|7||More than satisfactory|
* Grades 1-3 are hardly ever awarded and 9 and (especially) 10 are rare.
